Passaic
CGP&H has worked closely with the Police Department to secure funds to improve safety in one of the City¹s public schools, fund domestic violence training programs and police overtime costs. This included securing new investigative equipment, as well as new computers and communications technology.
In addition, funds have been secured for the revitalization of public parks, the redevelopment of the City¹s animal shelter, storage and archiving of public records, and streetscaping improvements in the downtown area. CGP&H also assisted the City in securing more than $400,000 in NJDOT funding.
Passaic (LICAR): CGP&H took on the challenge of the new and often recognized as confusing federally funded and state monitored Lead Intervention Children-At-Risk Program. CGP&H prepared the State grant application which was approved and awarded to Passaic. Additionally, CGP&H coordinated lead education and training and partnered the LICAR funds with Passaic¹s Housing Rehabilitation Program to benefit the City and the program participants.
With our staff of state certified lead inspectors and our state-of-the-art lead testing equipment, we provided program participants with lead risk assessments and final lead clearances. With our program inspectors and administrative staff added to the mix, CGP&H is proud to say we were able to provide all the services needed to administer this multi-faceted education, rehabilitation, testing, and lead remediation and abatement activities, assisting hundreds of Passaic City families in the process.
In 1998, CGP&H took over administration of the Passaic HOME Housing Rehabilitation Program, which at that time had a number of administrative challenges. Through excellent outreach, superior customer service and a well-earned reputation for fairness, CGP&H quickly improved the program¹s image while rehabilitating more than 150 addtiional units.
This program came with challenges inherent in many older Urban Cities, including lead paint hazards, extensive and costly home repair needs and at times language barriers with homeowners. The CGP&H team, including certified lead inspectors, bilingual case managers, and experienced management, has kept the program running smoothly for nearly ten years. This program continues to follow HUD and City requirements, while maximizing funding and whenever possible, by partnering with other funding sources such as LICAR, RCA and previously, the Federal Home Loan Bank of NY.
CGP&H¹s success in the City of Passaic is a good example of the multi-disciplinary service platform the firm provides and its level of expertise in all of the essential fields. CGP&H can provide its clients the broadest spectrum of grant funding, administration, planning and affordable housing administration services available anywhere.
